The Brilliance of the Seas will arrive into Barcelona Sunday at 7pm but will not embark on the new cruise before Monday.

This has been another troubled cruise for the Brilliance of the seas.
The cruise before this the ship was hit by a wave and 20 cabins was flooded.

During the cruise ending today the ship missed a port, the shore time was shortened at 2 of the stops and the ship had to return to Venice for a medevac.

    From the RCCL website:

Brilliance of the Seas - Delayed
    October 24, 2009

While returning to Barcelona, Spain from Corfu, Greece, Brilliance of the Seas encountered two weather systems with strong winds and high seas, which significantly slowed its sailing speed. sanity check

It is not reasonable to me that the ship should arrive back in Barcelona 14 hours late because of weather. Keep in mind that the ship already skipped one stop (unnamed) and shortened two other stops. How much time did it take for ship to return to Venice for medivac? Will we ever know the true reason for the delayed return to Barcelona? We are boarding the ship today. Maybe a crew member wil let us know.

Hey bawe! Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

Weather delays like the one experienced by the Brilliance OTS are always an inconvenience to the passengers, but safety at sea if the number one concern of the cruise line.

I hope you get a satisfactory answer to your questions when you get onboard today. Please do keep us updated on what you find out.

I hope your sailing is smooth without the troubled waters that occured on the last voyage of Brilliance.
