I have been here at least once everyday, sometimes twice. I read all the new posts and comment when I have something new to add.

I have done some research on the July 10th, 4- night, VofS out of Stockholm. There would be 3 of us. The price looks good but I am not thrilled with the ship. With the strength of the $ the price for 3 in a grand suite is under $ 2,000. There are plenty of cabins so I'll wait to see what the last minute price will be. If we took this cruise we would earn membership in Crown and Anchor Society for the November cruise.

The Nov. 30 cruise just keeps getting closer. All we can do is wait. I have not had responses from the wineries on Cyprus. I expected more interest from them but maybe they don't need the business. I will wait awhile then send some more e-mails and make some calls. If the wine tasting tour does not work out it is no big loss. I have enough information on the wines to insure a great time in Limassol. I think we may end up a little drunk there because there are so many wines I would like to sample.

If you have not tried the KEO Commandaria or the Amfora muscat d'alexandrie I can recommend them. They make great dessert wines with chocolate, pastries, or cheese and are very nice additions to sauces for both main courses and desserts.

I am sorry to hear that Katie will not join us but look forward to sailing with you.

Thank you for the recommendations on the wines. I will see if I find them in the shops. I do like a glass of sweet wine with my desserts.
Also, I will try them in sauces. Good idea

No worries about the wineries. Its still a few months until we cruise You will probably hear from them in due time.

I have never been on the Vision of the Seas. I did cruise on the sister ship, the Legend of the Seas. I did enjoy the ship very much. I love all the glass and windows and the fact that the ship is one of the smaller vessels in the RC fleet.
It does not have as many aminities as the larger ships and it only has the main dining room and the Windjammer Cafe for dining but for a 4 days cruise it should be ok.
Why are you not thrilled with the Vision???

I think the Legend got a major make-over while the Vision has not.Things like no specialty dinning, concierge lounge, and both decks 7 and 8 look like they have noise issues above and below are a few of the things I do not like. Enjoy the wine.

I think you are right regarding the refit.
The Vision does not have a speciality restaurant.
We had a cabin on deck 7 and never had any noise issue. There might be some noise on deck 8 since the Windjammer Cafe, pool etc is above???

The only thing acceptable on deck 7 would be the family suite. There is no way I would try to sail with 3 adults in a cabin unless I could get a GS or better. I have not looked into the family suite. I figure it would be much more expensive and I am not sure the ship considers 3 adults a "family". Where was your cabin on deck 7?

    Good Morning Lee.

Our cabin was an OV 4 doors down from the Atrium. We never had any problem with noise.
You might want to give Royal Caribbean a call and ask if you can book the family suite. I belive it only has to be a certain amount of people to book the suite not necesarily a family.
I would look at it like this, but this is me, for 4 days I would not to bothered with being 3 in a cabin. You will not stay there much I pressume.
Ofocurse, it will depend on who you sail with.

It is nice to see someone else who is on the same cruise. If you make plans for some of the ports, let me know. I hope we will have more folks posting here in the future. Maria and I look forward to getting to know you. Lee

Thanks for the info on the OV and Familly cabins. Maria's dad, who lost his wife 3 years ago, is now in love again. He is no longer interested in traveling with Maria and I unless he has his own cabin. We will be watching the new cruises offered in 2011, but I have renewed some contacts with family members in the US and we may go there in 2011. Maybe even a family cruise out of New Orleans, Texas, or Miami. A back to back from Europe to Florida and back would be cool. Hope all is well with you. Lee
