I haven't yet LuLu but I would also love to hear about it!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

Bonaire is soooo lovely. It is still a sleepy island in the Antilles. It has a National Park all the way around it and has pristine reefs for diving or snorkelling. I would think that if you could find a day rate at a hotel you would enjoy it a great deal.
You want to make sure you have water shoes as the entire island is coral based and can be sharp when you are barefoot.
It's one of my favorite Islands!!

Here is a picture of how pristine the water is at the dock as seen from the ship in Bonaire. It's really a little gem. Think Aruba without the commercialization.

We booked it through the cruiseline (on Princess this year). Had been thinking of doing a day pass at a hotel resort so when you suggested a day pass ... we booked this one.
It never bothers me to book through the ship when they offer something we want to do ... especially, our first time in a port. Sure, it may be a bit more expensive than on our own BUT it's done and I don't have to worry about it. That makes it worth every penny to us.
If anyone wants the cost and excursion details, just let me know.
Thanks again!

I have been there twice. Snorkel, Snorkel , Snorkel.
The water is the clearest I have ever seen. This is an unspoiled island. No big hotels like Aruba, or any touristy things. Most people go there to dive.
On my first trip we got a taxi and did a tour of the South side of the island. I remember seeing big salt mountains. We saw some flamingos close up. They were just wading in some very clear water. There was so much salt on some of the beaches it looked like ice.
Last trip we did a half day snorkel from shore. We used a local named Renee who took us to 2 different places. As someone mentioned in another post, the beaches are not sand, but crushed coral.
There is a nice little bar on the water front in town to enjoy a drink or two. Shopping is not great but there are a handful of store.
