    As of 7:00pm still no change.

    Just go to the Carnival website (Cruise Deals, Discount Cruises, and Cruise Vacations) and in the upper left corner you'll see a bright green box entitled Weather Alert.

    I am almost done packing and still hoping the itinerary never changes.

    I will assume my itinerary is safe until I hear otherwise.

    Andrea, that is still a lot. And a bouncing ship can be fun in itself. Our very first cruise chased a hurricane most of the way (and that was also in late October). The pool was closed part of the time and water activities were not as fun since the water was all stirred up. But it was glorious.

    (And I enjoyed watching the water lap up on the sides of the pool)

    Did you notice "1 day" is not on my Bahamas ticker anymore? That means it is time to count down the hours! Boarding starts at 1:30, so I will leave home at 10:00. So I have only 10 more hours to wait for my vacation to start. How am I going to sleep tonight?

    OMG the ticker is already counting up! Next time I will include the hours so that does not happen again.

    Departure time is the same time Carnival will provide a Hurricane Sandy update, so I will not get a chance to check the status of my itinerary.

    Nine hours before departure!

    Looks like you're not going to Nassau;

    CARNIVAL Sensation
    Due to the current track of the storm, the port of Nassau is closed. Therefore, we are sorry to say that we are forced to cancel our scheduled call in Nassau on Friday. The good news is that we have secured a visit to Key West on Saturday from 7:00AM to 2:00PM.

    A choice between Nassau and Key West is a no brainer for me. Andrea, you will love Key West.

    The letter I got while entering the security checkpoint area noted Key West was the only port that could be subsituted. I had no idea it has a cruise ship dock before I got in that line.

    If I was traveling alone, I would have visited the aquarium, but Mom called it "a tourist trap" because of its size and location, so I only saw the butterfly house. The only thing I wanted to see there before we booked our shore excursion was the Hemingway House so I told Mom we are definitely going there while we stood in the security checkpoint line. She did not want to see that either, so I have to go back for it. But there is nothing else I am interested in. I don't care about the Southernmost House, which is a misnomer now, or Duval Street.

    Andrea should be off her ship by now. Inbstead of going to the Bahamas, the ship diverted to Key West. She made a phone call to me before she left so I got to wish her a safe trip and give her some informatyion on off site parking. Andrea, I hope that you write a review of your trip. We all want to hear how it all went. Gloria
