Belize is still a little...rustic.

We ate at the 'Smokey Mermaid' on our last visit to Belize. Very nice, relaxing, garden atmosphere. Food was pretty good, too. A little pricier than I was expecting, but not too awfully bad.

It was a several block walk from the pier, but an enjoyable one. Most any local in the pier area can point the way for you.
