Have you been to Belize?

We've been to Belize and really enjoyed it! Very much hope to return!

It is probably my least favorite port in the Caribbean.

John (PE) .... You usually have very good and much respected reasons why you don't like a place. Why did you not like Belize?

I enjoyed my visit to Belize, but I would not rush back. I did a great excursion on the river, but did not find Belize City itself very appealing and ended up only shopping in the port area as the rest of the city looked pretty sleazy.

I've never been to Belize, We opted to see Costa Rica instead because we found a really great deal. It's so beautiful there, like a little slice of heaven! We stayed at this one resort that you have to drive 4 hours through the mountain rain forest to get there. I can't resist talking about it because it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen. Hubby and I would love to make it out to Captain Morgan's near Ambergris Caye one day. It was featured on one of those love reality shows, Temptation Island and we have been drooling over it ever since! Here's what we are missing:

Suer,I'd go back to Belize. Been there several times... mostly, I go snorkeling there, shich is decent.
Once, howeer, I went with DD, and we did NOT snorkel... explored the town, because it was their independence day, and we wanted to be a part of the celebration.
It was really nice, with speeches in the park, a parade... mostly schoolchildren in various colored uniforms ... flags everywhere, and big, burly Belizean policemen with huge smiles on their faces for everyone's cameras.

I have never had a desire to go there, but it could be that I just haven't heard enough about it.

Going to Belize for the first time in December on RCCL Voyager of the Seas!
Would appreciate any advice/recommendations regarding excursions there.
