You will be met at the tender pier and boarded onto an air-conditioned bus for the scenic 1 hour journey to Big Hill Station. Your tour guide will give a brief history of Belize, its people and culture along the way.
Upon arriving at Big Hill Station, there will be a bathroom stop before continuing across the beautiful Savannah Pine Ridge. You will enter into a cavernous tunnel which leads to a primeval rainforest encircled by crevassed rock walls more than 100 feet tall, in which dwell many creatures of the night, including Vampire Bats.
This is where your Original Canopy TourŪ of the Lost World Cave begins. There are five traverses, ranging from 105 - 500 feet apart, that take you across the fallen ceiling of this enormous open air cave. You will be met by the well trained staff for your orientation and safety briefing before being suited up with the necessary equipment after which you will be led off to your first traverse. The walk to the 1st platform takes you through the giant doorway to the cave, along a 100 ft tunnel.
Your journey starts with traversing from platform to platform above the floor of the densely populated forest. Each platform is perched on the inside face of this open air crater giving you an unforgettable experience. Your last traverse takes you to a rock shelf, protruding from the side of the large tunnel-like entrance to the main cave where your tour ends with an exciting rappel to the cave floor.
After this once in a lifetime experience, you will be taken via bus back through the jungle to Big Hill Station for a delicious barbecue lunch, before returning to the ship.
