    Getting a passport [Information]

Since I have to get one, well I don't have to but I wanted to I felt like we need a thread just for passport info.

I went to http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html and did some reading up.

Located a place near me that handles passports which happend to be the post office.

Went to the post office and they gave me a really simple form that just needed generic information.

Now I must bring my birth cert. and ID to them with 2 pictures.

Pay the fee, wait some time and incomes my passport.

    Sounds pretty dang easy.

Yes, but if you when you have a child, both parents have to go to the passport office together.

You can also fill out the forms online, print them out and save some time at the post office. Really painles till it comes to paying the fees.....AHH cruise money being spent elsewhere.

I just got passports for me, my DH, & DS. When they came in, I went to the Carnival website to fill in the FunPass. It asks for issuing city. At first I thought this meant the city where we applied. I have since figured out this means the location where your passport was issued. I happened to keep the envelope that mine & my DH's passports came in. Luckily, the location is on the envelope. The really strange thing is that both of ours came from different cities. Unluckily, I didn't keep the envelope my son's came in. Does anyone know how I can tell what the issuing city is by looking at the passport? Or is there another way to figure this out? I have looked & looked & can't figure it out.
    Thanks,
    Deb

Not sure why you can't answer whatever is listed in your passport.

I don't remember Princess asking that question. Just passport number, exp. date, that sort of thing.

If the passport lists the issuing city, I can't find it.

We just filled out our Sea Pass yesterday and there was no question about where the passports were issued from...

Deb...in the passport (where your pic is located) there should be an issuing agency and then the location of that agency....the postmark on your envelope isn't the information they're looking for....sorry.

I had the same problem with this. I couldn't find anywhere on the passport where it says what city issued the passport, so I just put the city where I applied. If it's wrong, no one ever said anything. We've sailed twice using these passports and this (mis)information. I don't think it's that important.
