We often don't get home until very late, so dinner usually is had in the Atlanta Airport while we wait for our flight. If we get home early enough, we order pizza or stop at the supermarket's deli for something (plus we pick up milk, bread and fruit for breakfast).

I guess this is one moment where it is better to be a crew member. After 6 months of crew meals I would be dreaming of home cooked food. I would place an order of my favourite craving dishes with my mother before I left the ship and after 34 hours of travel I would have all my favourites waiting for me!!

I always freeze our recipe of Chilli Beef. Slow cooked ground beef but with red chillis and lots of tomotoes. Defrosts easily and served with tagliatelli or rice. It never fails.

Excellent Idea! I make mine with also some pinto beans added and normally have some in the freezer. We are happy to eat it with saltine crackers so it would work great for us!

Think this will be our next "return home" meal!

I don't like getting off a ship cold turkey. We usually go out and generally go to ON the Border or a similar Tex-Mex restaurant. For some reason the ships never make the food on board spicy enough for real Tex-Mex.

Funny...I have the same problem with Oklahoma!

Seriously...there is no cooking in my house for the same reason. It's too much like going cold turkey after doing the drug that is cruising. We usually eat out the first night home. Usually the next day for lunch, too.

When we were in London, we saw a TexMex restaurant. We were scared to try it.

Usually by the time we get home from a cruise eating is the last thing on our minds.
We usually have some sort of quick prepare item in the freezer if we do feel a need to eat.
