I know that I love to print mine. I set them up to run right after the twenty dollar bills I print on tuesdays.

There is a slight difference in the Luggage Tags between Princess and Carnival. The ones from Princess already had our NAME and the Deck & Cabin number. The ones from Carnival only have the Deck & Cabin number ... (fill in our name ourselves).

Just a sign of the times and they are definitely changing! We went from paper documents to electronic documents relatively quickly. When you think about it, it not only saves the cruise lines considerable money, but it saves alot of paper. Most of that stuff was a waste anyway.

Luckily, the overwhelming number of our clients don't mind printing their own, but we always let them know we'll print them out for them and mail them if needed.

But you don't need to print out the entire document - there are usually only about 1 or 2 pages that you need to print, the rest is just the usual cruise contract stuff that is really a waste of paper to print and unnecessary.

Then of course there are the luggage tags.

I use to love the way RCCL did it - they provided agents with a stockpile of blank luggage tags so we could print them and provide them to our clients. They were of good quality and looked good, making it nice for people. But this new 'print your own' sucks for everyone. How are you suppose to attach them if you're flying to the cruise port? The airlines don't want you to put them on before the flight, so you have to take a stapler or tape dispenser with you! Dumb!!

We just wait until we get to the pier, request some from the baggage handlers and fill them out before we stand in line to check-in. Since we usually only have two bags, it's not a big deal.

Holland America recently helped me out by sending quite nice luggage tags, decorated with old ship images and other HAL associated pictures. When I printed out my tags for my upcoming Noordam trip, a little trimming of the paper document allowed me to insert the pertinent portion in the new tag, and, there I have nice sturdy luggage tags!

We got those with our Mariner magazine as well, SW. I was hoping that our luggage tags would fit in there, but hadn't gotten around to testing them. Thank you for checking this out for me.

I am not ecstatic with the loops they provide for the attaching the tags to the luggage, but I am sure I will be able to make them work. And the tags are beautiful!
