One thing that I forgot to pack on the last cruise was the information on our travel insurance. Thank goodness, we didn't need to use it; however, it will now be included on our list with travel documents and passports.

We bought our travel alarm at Walmart...it was the cheapest one they had...it's even louder than the one I have at home! We've used it for 4 years now & it's still going. I always check at Walmart just in case ours goes out & they still have it!![]()
Most ports have very expensive parking. I parked at the port a few years ago for a cruise out of Miami and ended up paying well over $100 to park my car during my cruise. I would highly recommend making sure you have your parking situation figured out before you go on your next cruise. There are other parking options besides parking at the port. Some companies offer off-site parking and provide a shuttle to and from the port.
One company I would recommend for this is Premier Parking USA. I have used them for parking my car for cruises out of Tampa and Miami. I know they have facilities at other ports as well. Just check their website at Premier Parking USA - Airport Parking and Cruise Parking
Another option for parking may be free! Some hotels close to a port will offer parking during your cruise if you stay there for a certain number of nights pre-cruise. And check to see if there is a complimentary shuttle to the terminal. If so, there may be quite a few people who want to use it, but if you don't need to be the first person on the ship, just book the shuttle for an hour or 2 later and avoid the rush.

On hiatus from cruising, but still very interested!!!
Unfortunately I can't benefit from Sign and Sail hotel deals because my cruise pier is less than two hours away so Mom will drive there that morning. Our cabin will not be ready before 1:30 on embarkation day, so we don't even need to leave early. For the second cruise out of Los Angeles, we can't do that because it is a repositioner to Vancouver. So she will have to pay to park in both places.
