Well, I found something very interesting on my American Express web site when I was checking my account tonight.

Has anyone else been advised by their bank that it is not necessary to inform them of your travel plans?
No I haven't. I use to call my credit card company and let them know we would be traveling and they always appreciated it.

Have not done it in the last couple of years. Don't really purchase anything while we're away. But...if a charge comes up they can always back check to see where we charge the travel.

    Hmmm...interesting. Don't call huh.

I would hope that the credit card companies appreciate our due diligence. It is sloppiness that allows thieves to get by with robbing us blind. Someone has to pay for it in the long run and I am sure the banks' charges are passed along to the credit card holders.
