Water Shoes - At which ports/beaches are they needed/not needed?

At which ports/beaches in the Caribbean & Bahamas are water shoes needed/not needed?

No use to bother to pack them if they aren't needed!

NOT needed in St.Martin at Orient Beach!

Your feet can be as bare as the rest of your body!

Seriously, I've never needed them at ANY beaches in St.Maarten/St.Martin!

    -----------------------------------------

Char & Pat .... I also needed my water shoes at Princess Cays and Labadee!

Had them along at CoCoCay ... but did NOT need them.

    Not always, Lulu.
sometimes, I just don't feel like fooling with them when I pack, so I either rent some or just snorkel without them. I really prefer the latter, unles the current is quite strong.
I think hte real difference is that people who tend to stand around in the water may need them more than those whose feet rarely ever touch the bottom

If you go to the Los Escobos waterfalls in Guatamala you need them as the bottom of the water at the bottom of the falls is all rock.
