Before a cruise do you consider that you might be delayed returning home as planned (acts of God, strikes, etc.) and prepared for the extra expenses of an extended stay?
I was rather amazed at the large number of people who were "camped out" in a NY airport for 6 days or so with no shower because of the volcano. There were hotel rooms available BUT they didn't feel they could afford them.
Seems even those of us without great means would be aware any travel could cause extra expenses? At that point I'd be more worried about finding a decent hotel room than how much it would cost ... even if it ment giving up something I'd planned later.![]()
What are your thoughts on this?

We always buy travel insurance and can subsidize our expenses for as long as it takes to get home again---as long as it isn't for more than a week! (meds would run out)
but, but, but .... What would you do if there was no way to get back home?
