    airport transfers

Don't use the airport transfer to get from your ship back to the airport. It's way cheaper to take/share a cab, plus you get delivered straight to your airline. The cruise shuttle charged us $60 for a party of four (cab would have been 20 bucks, but we didn't know until too late). Then the shuttle dropped all 40 of us on the bus at some random point and we had to drag our luggage past 5 entrances to get to our airline.

Your agent should have provided this information to you.

Almost always, it's better to take a taxi than to take the transfers offered by the cruise line.

One of those logistics to research prior to a cruise. Like here in LA, it's better in many cases just to grab a shuttle (less costly than using a taxi) from the airport. But I would go further and highly recommend coming in a day ahead and booking a hotel near the port that will shuttle you for free to the Port of LA or the Port of LB for your cruise.
