In that case any hotel suggestion?? And can anyone tell me if the airport is close to the port??
The Fort Lauderdale airport is very close to Port Everglades....you can see the the port from the airport. It's about a 5 to 10 minute ride depending on traffic.

I don't have any hotel suggestions, but do check out the link that hanna posted above.

many of the hotels do offer both free shuttles from the hotel and then to the pier the next day

I used the Comfort Inn on Stirling Road for my last 2 groups from Fort Lauderdale. They have a nice free breakfast buffet and shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port.

We just got back from Australia and flew Qantas, then picked up AA from LAX to and from PBI. I know there are direct flights from Miami to LAX on American.
The port is very close to the port, you can see the ship from the airport and vice versa.
We live in south Florida and just drive to the port from West Palm Beach, its great.
Definitely fly in the day before so you don't have to stress. I was reading about fog delays in some ports, hopefully south florida is not going to experience that. The fog delays were in Mobile, Alabama, Tampa (I think) and Houston.
Happy cruising. Post a report on this website when you get back.
