Nope, but probably should have especially to Alaska. But..don't own a pair and never think to buy them.

Great idea for packing light! Do you actually use them very often?
LuLu ... Visit SOUTH CAROLINA!
11/21/09 Crown Princess 2/18/10 Island Pricess B2B Ft.Lauderdale to Acapulco and back (total 20 days)
OVER 40 (started young) Princess, Celebrity, RCCL, HAL, NCL, Costa, Disney, Carnival, Sitmar (Princess bought), and (a very long time ago) SS Bahama Star
Voted that we haven't but plan to on our next cruise.
Thinking that since we'll be doing two full Panama Canal transits on our next cruise (b2b) ... it might make us enjoy the Canal more than we have in the past?

I take a small pair that we got on a South American cruise from HAL -- one pair was great -- the other wasn't.
I use that pair for looking from our balcony in the hotels.
Otherwise -- for the all the ports -- and other scenery -- Panama Canal -- Alaska -- we use the pair that is in our suite (Thank you HAL) -- and they are really great -- sorry I don;t know their range or whatever they call it.
CLF Navigator - if you need help for Holland America -- ask me -- Yonnie
Yes, Lulu - I think you should take them for the Canal.
I voted Sometimes. Don't always remember, but when we do, DH really enjoys using them. his favorite pair is actually NOT our more expensive ones... but some that I have for sale in my store for just under 25.00, including shipping. They are 10 x 50's. Actually, I'm glad he likes those..
it means he leaves the more epensive ones at hime, and if he should lose them, we aren't out that much. And, besdes - I know where to get more.
I sometimes take a pair, I have a large pair which I don't usually take on cruises as they are too big and heavy. But I also have a small pair which will fit in my pocket. Not wonderful, but better than nothing

Cruises booked: Queen Victoria November 2009, QM2 May 2010 and Queen Victoria March 2011.
Yes! We always take binocs with us. The ones in the cabins (CC class on Celebrity) are not very good and we enjoy looking at other ships , sea life, activities on shore, etc.
LuLu, for sure get some to take with you on the Canal cruises. You can see the operation of the mules up close & personal as well as looking at all the other interesting sights.
Always! We enjoy using them while we're docked and I love to scan the horizon while we're at sea. I have a large pair and a small pair. The small ones go into our backpack for shore excursions and the large ones are used while on board. They were wonderful to have on our last cruise to South America. We were able to get up close and personal to glaciers, whales and dolphins.
I originally bought the large ones on a cruise to Alaska. I used them everywhere and ever since have always packed them for our cruise.
It's amazing how many ships you can see on the horizon line. Sometimes on a transatlantic cruise, you feel like you're the only ones on the sea and then look through the binoculars and there are ships behind and in front of us.
