I found the best thing to do is to make a list of everything you've taken on your first cruise and place it in your documents, so you have access to it, to change, or modify it, and you can print it out prior to a cruise, so packing is alot easier.. We both have one and it makes packing a breeze.. We also have a emergency kit list, which has a bunch of things we've wished we had in the past...

That is def. a good way to do it also!

Wish I had this info when I started!! I went in blind, but caught on quickly. Made a list and still use it!!

Looks like another candidate to add to the links list.

Printed it out and will compare to my old list (I too keep a checklist on the computer and update before each cruise...it really does help).

I, too, have kept my packing list from cruise to cruise ever since I forgot the toothpaste and hubby's belt in 2001. Blasted $1 toothpast coust us well over $5 at the first port. I use an excel spread sheet where I enter the itinerary day by day in the far left column and then have sections across the top for day activity, clothes, night dress code, clothes and a msc list to include things like toothpast, batteries and so forth.

This also helped a lot when DD & I cruised together. We did NOT both bring things like hair spray, shampoo and toothpaste. I entered her brings in green and mine in blue and we emailed it back/forth until all the "general use" items were covered.

How nice it would be for someone to pack for you and make sure nothing essential if forgotten!! I love to travel but never look forward to packing...
