    Passports

I received an e-mail from I don't remember where and it said that everyone will be required to have passports in place for any cruises after January 1st. Has any one else out there seen or heard about it? I know they were talking about it, but never heard any more about it.

Here's a thread that talked about it, Cybill. There is a link to the government site in the first post.

    Here is the passport website.

I think this is what you were questioning.

The travel initiative requirements will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The proposed implementation timeline is as follows:
    • December 31, 2005 – Passport or other accepted document required for all travel (air/sea) to or from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Central and South America.
    • December 31, 2006 – Passport or other accepted document required for all air and sea travel to or from Mexico and Canada.
    • December 31, 2007 – Passport or other accepted document required for all air, sea and land border crossings.

Thanks all. I'll check out the website. I guess now I will really have to find someone who can take a good picture of me. I've been putting it off because all the pictures have been terrible and if I have to live with it for 10 years I want it to look at least a little decent. (lol)

Forget it. These cameras are specially calibrated in order to expose the worst possible photo. I believe it's actually a State Department
requirement. I'm not gorgeous , but my passport photo is of Ernest Borgnine.

I gave up on that, and in fact my passport photo is better than my driver's license! When people ask for ID, I just give it to them and say "This is me on a bad day".

I don't think anyone is ever happy with any of their 'official' photographs. :thumbsdow

If anybody finds a photographer for passport pictures who can produce a photo that doesn't make one look like a thrice convicted felon on a 2 week bender , please forward their name and address to me immediately.

    I HATE pics of me!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

My passport photo turned out really well. I took one at AAA and didn't like it so I went to another AAA to take another. I told them I didn't like my first picture so the guy let me see the picture before he printed it up. He said we could take it again if I didn't like it. My passport photo was good enough to post on a website.
