Clothes to Pack, Mix and Match?

No offense ladies, but fellows don't leave me alone on this one! It seems as I approach my cruise date, I find myself going out and buying more and more clothes. Is this normal? My cruise is only five days and I used to being away on vacation for two weeks or more, so I almost always over pack. I have set out what clothes I wanted to take several times, mixed and matched and still think I need to take more. I was out today and of course everything for summer/spring is on clearance. I probably had a suitcase full of clothes in my arms, before I decided to put everything back except for a pair of swim trunks (I really needed them). Any ideas or suggestions on clothing for a 5 day Western Caribbean Cruise in November. I guess I'm OK for dinner/formal night. What do you wear in the day, on excursions, non-formal night dinner, etc.

    Good Question!

Guess all of us have a tendency to OVERPACK! Seems the more I've cruised, the less I take ... and the less I worry about it!

We plan what we'll be wearing to dinner each night ... get that packed and out of the way. Then, it's just bathing suits and shorts & tops for the rest of the time. :

I tend to buy a lot of black anyway, so I bring a few pair of black pants and then a lot of tops that I can mix and match! (Everything goes with black!!) This way, I also only have to bring 2 or 3 pair of black evening shoes that will mix and match perfectly with my pants!! This has reduced the amount of packing I have to do tremendously!

Lulu is right and if you need to Carnival has laundry rooms, so if you don't want to pack alot, you've have that option. Sea days, you'll live in your trunks until dinner. So you'll only need a few pairs of shorts for your ports.

I know you asked for the guys imput. I pack for hubby when we go somewhere. Then I tell him if there is anything else he wants to add it to it. Shorts, Maybe one pair of jeans. You might want a couple pair of swim trunks things don't always dry very fast. Then your tshirts or what you feel comfortable in for the day. Like you said you are fine for the evening attire.

I have computer lists for the various itineraries. No over packing in this household!!

I have decided before hand exactly what all DH will need -- take advantage of the free laundry that we have as a suite passenger on HAL -- really helps.

Evrything that I pack for him is co-ordinated - end up taking a lot less.

    (Do the same for myslef.)
