Thread: Who does most of the research?

when you cruise, who does most of the research and pre-planning? Is it you? Or is it your travel companion? Or do you both do it?

I'm the researcher. The First Mate just reads and enjoys the fruits of my labor.

Me too. I am the researcher. My parents (my travel companions most of the time) are just the beneficiaries of my hard work!

Both hubby and I research a lot. when either of us comes up with something we really like ten show it to the other.

thats probably the best way. Gets everyone excited about the cruise. Half the fun is the research ahead of time!

I do the research. Then I either travel alone or get a good friend to join me.

I'm definitely the researcher, but then share with DH what I've found and we do the follow-up and decision-making together.

Same here - I do the "grunt work" but we decide together - even as far as picking out the cabin we want and why!

Do the research, come up with a couple of options, and then go to DW for permission. So far it's worked very well.

I'm a research fanatic...I want to know details and choices before booking anything. And then after it's booked I want to know all about where we're going and what we can do when we get there.

DH doesn't want to know many details ahead of time. His biggest concern is usually how long is the flight and whether he can get a comfortable seat (he loves business class). He prefers to learn about our destination after we get there...and he gets into the excitement then and not before.

This works out great for both of us....I just research my heart out and tell him what I have chosen and he's usually happy with it!
