This was on the Front page of Princess Patter (Barbados day) on our recent cruise:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Barbados Smoking Ban

For those passengers planning to go ashore in Barbados, we would like to make you aware of a new law that took effect Octorber 1st. The Barbados government has passed a law banning smoking in all public buildings in Barbados. All shops, bars, restaurant, hotels, other public buildings and the entire port surroundings will now be smoke-free areas.

You can still smoke on the beach ....

This is the first I have heard about Barbados. But this seems to be the trend nowadays. Get used to less and less smoke friendly areas.

just cannot see this being enforced out side of government buildings

For sure ... I know smoking is allowed on public beaches.

It was NOT anyplace in or outside of the Cruise Terminal Area. I saw Security tell some women outside of the terminal to put out their cigarettes immediately.
