Thread: Is Harrison's Cave, yet once again, closed?

Does anyone know if Harrison's Cave has re-opened after the last (2009) close ... or when it is scheduled to re-open?

HARRISON'S CAVE CLOSURE
Caves of Barbados Ltd recently announced to its staff and other stakeholders that the completion of the Harrison’s Cave Re-development Project will necessitate closure of the facility for approximately six months. The closure will be effective July 15th, 2009; however Harrison’s Cave will remain opened to business until that date and the corporate offices will remain open during the closure period. Any question you may have can be directed to Mrs. Brenda Edwards at 246-438-8654 or at bedwards@harrisonscave.com.

According to Joe-Ann Grant, CEO and Managing Director of Caves Of Barbados Ltd “The decision to close the facility was a very difficult one for all of us. Nonetheless, we recognize that for efficient completion of our Redevelopment Project we need to close the facility in the best interest of our staff and our customers. These are challenging times for all of us and we are committed to working with our staff and all our stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition through the closure and re-opening of Harrison’s Cave. All our staff is being retained and will be deployed on various work assignments during the closed period. We are also committed to facilitating substantial training for our staff during this time in preparation for our re-opening.”

“We want to apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure might cause to the public and our partners in the tourism industry. We believe these efforts will allow for completion of the Harrison’s Cave Re-development Project as we work diligently to deliver a world-class product for locals and tourists alike” Mrs. Grant concluded.

On completion of the Redevelopment Project patrons will enjoy our new facilities which will feature a Visitors Reception Centre, Meeting Facilities, an Amphitheatre, new Restaurant and Bar, Souvenir Shop, a Cave Interpretative Centre and a number of greening initiatives.

There's an email address in the article---try that and ask when they expect the Caves to re-open.

HAL cancelled our excursion there -- we are in Barbados in March.

Their site doesn't mention any time date to re-open.

They are doing a lot of work there.

according to my friend suzy who is there at this moment intime they are trying to shedule opening for easter week.
