Yeah that's what Barbados did to us too when we were first there. That's why we wanted so badly to go back and stay a few days. Antigua was the same but it is so much easier to fly to Barbados from here. We stayed on the south coast right next door to Silver Sands at Inch Cape villas. It was positively beautiful there but a little too remote for our liking. We weren't comfortable with renting a car since they drive on the left side of the road there. We found a great taxi driver who was at our call all week but because we didn't have a car ourselves we were still somewhat limited. We decided next time we will probably stay nearer to the Gap where there will be many more things we can walk to. Have you ever eaten at Oisten's Fish Fry? Oh my goodness! I am not a fish lover but that was beyond any doubt one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere and cheap too!

Two plates like this.....dolphin (the fish, not the mammal :-), macaroni pie, slaw and fries, 2 beers and a diet coke set us back a measly $20 US at Pat's Place at Oistens. Yummo!

Janet, your photos about Barbados are nice. I enjoyed viewing. Barbados a nice place, I think.

Silver sands area is quite remote & can be a bit...well.. less safe than other areas these days. Never fancied the Oistins thing, seems a bit busy for us but the food is good there. To be honest I don't know where we would stay if we went back, the hotels we liked are gone (progress..eh?) We aren't really "Gap" people & usually stay up near Holetown.Speightstown.
