Smile "Tiami Five-Star Catamaran w/Lunch & TURTLE Encounter" REPORT

    Tiami Five-Star Catamaran w/Lunch & Turtle Encounter

    Ships Excursion -- 5 1/2 Hours

This excursion was sooooo Woth It!

We met outside of the cruise terminal and were driven a short way in an air-conditioned tour bus to board the very nice roomy sailing catamaran.

First, we did the stop to "Swim with the Turtles". We saw LOTS & LOTS of sea turtles and also ... ... some really HUGE fish! No kidding -- some were over 6 feet long! Thank goodness they warned us about this and told us these fish were harmless ... or I would have totally freaked!

Next, we were off to the beach. The catamaran pulled in very close to shore. Easy walk in -- about waist deep for me (5'2''). Lots of help from the crew for any who needed it.

Lovely palm-lined beach -- white sand & gentle blue water. Some swam to a near by reef to snorkel and seemed to enjoy that as well. We were there for about two hours -- could get on & off the catamaran as we pleased.

Lunch: Fried Flying Fish "The National Dish of Barbados", ...and also ...chicken, pasta/cheese casserole, beans & rice, corn, salad, etc. It was good ... especially, the Flying Fish!

There was a well-stocked open bar at n/c. Also, bottles of champagne were opened and served.

The crew was OUTSTANDING! They waited on us hand and foot.

Can't say enough good things about this excursion!

We had a totally WONDERFUL DAY!

Sounds great Lulu. Are you saying the flying fish was chicken?

OK ... OK .... I corrected it so it now says "and also". Is that better?

Actually, the flying fish was excellent .... Way better by far than the chicken.

Unfortunately, they did stick with the required rules of no open bar until after snorkeling.

Happily, the snorkeling was the first part of the cruise!

Crowded: We found we had plenty of space to move around ... but it was totally "Sold Out" with a wait list ....

The beach was absolutely uncrowded with no pesky vendors. We were told some Jet Ski folks might come by and not to pay more than $35 ... but none came.

Hope this helps a bit. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

We booked thru Princess and paid $99 pp. this year.

From past experience we like doing this longer 5 1/2 hour verses a 4 hour or one that ONLY goes for the Turtle Swim. The beach time on this one, as always, was great!

We been on lots (maybe, way too many ) catamaran excursions in the Caribbean. This one remains our favorite!

Did that tour on our last cruise. A great day. No flying fishies though.
