I had to vote 'no strong opionion eilther eway' on this one. We have been only once, and that once, I didn't get to see enough of Barbados to form a real opinion.
I did a very nice snorkel tour. But the water on that particular day wasn't very nice. A TS had just passes, and athe water was all 'stirred up,' reducing visibility considerably. I only saw shadows of a couple of sea turtees. The other snorkel stops were pretty stirred up as wel. The one where the shipwreck was better than the other two, but still not as clear as one would have liked.
Bottom line: Need to go BACK to form a real opinion. Need to snorkel under better conditions, and see some of the non-submerged parts of the island, as well!
We really enjoyed Bathsheba - there is a beach and nice picnic area. The surfers are nearby, so fun to watch. Being independent and frugal, we took the city bus there and back.(The bus terminal is downtown. The locals will point it out. That gave us a real cheap tour of the island.
I have also done a safari tour, which included Bathsheba and a trip through the Gulleys.
The Mt. Gay Rum factory was interesting, but I recall a store that sold the different types of rum in a little shopping area as you walk along the main road to Bridgetown. It was on the left heading from the ship.
Here is a link to some Barbados Info
That looks like Bathsheba on their header image.

There are actually no bad beaches in Barabados. They are all Great!! .
Agree that all are quite pretty!
Take care on the EAST Coast of Barbados! Some there like Tent Bay and Cattlewash are NOT for good swimmers/snorkelers -- strong currents and undertows! Still very pretty with lots of lovely palms!
