Ok I signed up for the Boatyard 5 hour snorkeling trip. the decision to do that was easy there is a swimming with sea turtles spot. I am psyched.

However the ship is supposed to dock at 9. Shane from the boatyard said someone would be there to pick us up at 9:15. I think that is going to be a problem.

I worried about the same thing last year at the Caymans I booked a trip on my own with Capt Marvin and we had to be there by 8:30, but we made it with time to spare.

If there is a problem with the ship clearing customs I guess it could be a problem. Shane from the boatyard gave me a phone number to call if there were any problems.

I guess I am just a little nervous about the whole thing. But I gotta swim with those turtles.

Hey Slot,

How much are you paying for your day with Boatyard? I am assuming you are going to hang around Boatyard after your snorkel trip.

There is another option than includes snorkeling with turtles. There is a catamaran trip in NCL's excursion listing that includes snorkeling with turtles. the catamaran day sail and a beach barbecue. Their pickup time is about 10am and runs about 5 1/2 hrs. Click on the title below for more details.

Tiami Five Star Catamaran

Sail along Barbados' scenic coastline to a secluded bay to swim and snorkel among green and hawksbill sea turtles. Afterward, feast on a sumptuous buffet lunch featuring tasty local dishes and cool refreshments from the open bar.

This is the one we are going to do in early November.

John I think the boatyard is $75 includes breakfast (not important) lunch, open bar, sea turtles, snorkeling at a reef and wreck.

Also I'll go back and look but I don't remember seeing that one on the tours, of course it must be because you just showed it to me. duh

Hi Roe,

The Tiami Catamaran trip is $89.00. Your Boatyard price is quite good. Their website calls for a price of $70 for the 5 hr. lunch cruise. Are you paying extra to include Boatyard's facilities?

Boatyard is quite a beautiful beach. I believe your entry includes a beach chair but maybe not an umbrella. But then again you are looking at a different package than we had back when.

The last time we were there we were not bothered too excessively by vendors. Security was pretty good at shooing them away.

Thanks for the info. Going to be in Barbados in March on the Emerald Princess and will be looking for things to do. These sound like great ideas.

Char, we are going to do the Boatyard, its the only excursion that we are not booking with the ship, and we will be back in plenty of time. If the ship doesn;t clear customs in time, I'll just call Shane and let him know. I think this trip is good value for the money.

Hi, I have plenty of time to book, but am looking forward to you report on how it was, was it totally worth the price was it not to be missed ect... We're going on Emerald in Dec 2008- told you I have time to wait until you return from your vacation.

I'll give a full report only 3 more weeks, Yikes, better start packing. LOL
