It is infortunate but hopefully nect time you visit you will be able to go to the caves. There are quite a few other sites you could go to...dependent on what you are interested in.

We were in Barbados on our first cruise 10 years ago and thought it was a beautiful island. We did a scenic tour and the Atlantis submarine. This time we may just try wandering about on our own... is the taxi service reliable?

The taxi service is VERY reliable as is the Bus Service(which is way cheaper $1.50 BDS = $0.75 US).

Depending on how much time you have...you could probably take a bus as they have buses that go to most of the places of interest. A bus terminal is right there as soon as you exit the port.

The bus sounds like a great idea, Keith... we're scheduled to dock at 7 a.m. and leave at 5:00 so that should give us plenty of time to tour on our own (and allow time to find our way back in case we get lost ) I really appreciate your input.
