Actually, my husband loves the sun. However, he has a skin condition called vitiliego and needs to avoid the direct sun. It sounds like it will have to be either another land tour or out on the water. I was hoping there might be something different.

Hapinowagain,
I'm sorry about your husband. It would be awful to love something and not be able to do it.
You may still want to look into the Silver Moon. If he could stay in the cabin during the sail, then he'd be out of the sun. Then he could go out in the water when the boat stops. I think they stop once for snorkeling and another for swimming with the sea turtles.
I think they also have excursions where you can tour the island on a two person ATV - we almost booked that before we discovered Silver Moon.
Hope you find something fun & enjoy!

The Silvermoon II has plenty of shade. He would not have to sit inside a cabin and see nothing.

If he cannot get in the water for just a little while I can see where you might want to do something else.

The more I hear about the SMII, the more excited I get!!!! I have encouraged several of my fellow cruisers to join me on our trip, so it's possible we will fill it up all by ourselves on that day!!!!

Hapinowagain, my grandmother sailed with us and just made sure she stayed under the hard top canopy. I am sure she put on some sunscreen, just in case, but she had no problems getting tanned or burned. Her skin too could have never taken it. She's doing it again this year at the age of 93

Definitely do try to get your friends together, not hard to fill up one of their boats. This upcoming cruise it will be our family of 10 and two other families who are cruising with us that I met through our roll call.

Try A-Z Jamaica planners. They will be able to suggest a tour out of the sun. We are doing Mayfield falls with them.

Your photos are excellent. I can't believe how close you were to the turtles! Do you know if they are always that close? I guess you were snorkeling and swimming right with them. Did they come close enough to touch them? We will be on the Silvermoon II in April and I would love to see them.

Hey, I'm from Powhatan, too!
