    Question Nassau/Atlantis excursion

Me and my husband is looking to do an excursion to Atlantis when we arrive in Nassau ..the question I have is there someone else we can book with other than carnival? or can we just wait till we get on the boat to see what better deals they may have ? We do not want to do the water park only the beach and explore the ruins and of course explore the property but just not the water park is there a web site you can go to that has them cheaper?

I think you might be able to book a trip when you arrive in Nassau. The only thing to remember if doing a trip like this by yourself is that the ship will not wait for you so be sure to make sure you are back in time.

Since this will be your first cruise and your first time in Nassau, you might be more comfortable booking it through the ship.

You can either book this through the ship (usually more expensive and alot more crowded), book it through an independent excursion company (which is the way we prefer), or do it yourself (just grab a cab and go, which is another way we prefer).

Really depends on your comfort level and budget.

We lucked out when our tour was cancelled by finding a guide at the pier, Big T, who gave an excellent tour. Only problem is, I am not sure how to book with him ahead of time.

Problem with the water park is that it is impossible to book it from the Atlantis web site. You can get a day pass at their front desk, but the prices are not listed and it is based on "availability". If you want to go this route, you will need to go to the main desk and ask if there are passes. Cost is $60 per adult, $35 per child. Add to that a taxi ride both directions (about $20 each way)

Personally I would go with the ship especially since this is your first cruise. Why have something else to worry about?

    Question Aquatic resort attractions

I just want to know if you have to book a tour with Carnival to visit the animals and waterpark. Is that area closed to cruisers?

I can't see myself spending two days in Nassau without getting in the pools and and eating at the restaurants on Paradise Island. If I have one day, it is still long hours. So now I am thinking if I need to book a room at the resort to do more than take pictures of it, a very loud "THAT SUCKS!" will come out of my mouth.

Andrea, see my note above. i don't know if Carnival has tours, you will need to check their description of the tour, but in any case, it is not free.

I know I have to pay for it, but not nearly as much on a cruise as if I flew in and booked a room at the resort.

I looked at the schedule again. The Sensation arrives at 12:00 at Nassau and departs at 6:00 a.m. the next day. I sail at the end of October when the water is still warm, but if I swim at Atlantis I will not have time for the zoo and gardens or boat tours.

Right now it looks like I will spend the whole day at Atlantis since there is not time for anything else.

    Question Aquaventure day pass

Because $120 is obviously way too much for a 2-hour tour and 2 hours at the waterpark, I need an Aquaventure day pass that has nothing else included except the beach. I don't want to stay there all day and go back to the ship early with so much else to do, but the four-hour excursion through Carnival is totally useless since it takes more than two hours to do everything I want to there. Can it be booked independently for the last weekend of October?
