from a recent Carnival Sensation cruise. Sorry, no pictures of muggers. Nothing even close. Went snorkeling on the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel excursion:

Bill, some nice pictures. What camera setup do you have for your underwater shots?

Thank you and thanks to all.

A discontinued one - a Canon A710 IS with optional Canon waterproof case. I let Photoshop Elements auto-correct the color. I really like the 6x optical zoom and image stabilization. I don't care that much for the weight (not that bad) or size of the housing.

I just ordered a Canon D10 which I plan on giving quite a workout on our Hawaii cruise in a couple of months. Only a 3x optical zoom, but higher resolution, so should be able to crop some and still be happy with the results. Also a number of feature I don't have - like an Underwater mode and Underwater White Balance which may eliminate the need for Photoshop Elements.

    Stay tuned!

I have a little Canon powershot which I love. Great pictures (especially for someone who does not want to constantly be dinking with the camera) The D10 is sweet. You should be able to use the digital zoom at the higher resolution to imitate the optical zoom. But, for underwater shots it should be more than adequate.

The image stabilization accounts for the detail on some of your pics. Canon has really perfected that technology. (My old Nikon had bad jitter)

    The D10 also has IS.

Time will tell, but I think I will be happy.
