I went to bahamas last year but spent the whole day at Atlantis so just want to chill at a good beach and relax. also I never cruised with carnival so little worried about that but there intinerary fitted me the best this year thanks

to the site, I think I can say that since I'm pretty much new here too!

Peoples are Very Friendly here, you will like it.

Sorry I can't help you with your beach question but maybe you can help with my Atlantis question?

We would like to go and just walk around, we don't want to go in the pools or slides or visit the beach just see as much of the park and aquariums as possible, would we need to pay the admission fee to do that?
We are only there 1 to7 so it is a short time.

Any recommendations on the best way to do this?
What did you do for your day?

    Thanks Much, Krickett

There is a water taxi to Atlantis takes some time then u cross the street to get there. We walked around the hotels and casino freely and u can see part of the aquarium through parts of the hotel. As far as going into aquarium and outdoors where the beach and water parks are u have to have a braclet but i have heard a lot of people doing things without one. let me know if you want more info.

I'm no help on the beach question either. But, we did do the Atlantis via the water taxi and it was rather neat. We also plunked a few dollars in their slots. I did love the inside of the Atlantis, it was so huge.

A cab ride to Atlantis is $5.00 per person, they wait until they fill the cab. Seeing the aquarium is worth the trip.

    Smile Beaches in Nauuau

I don't know where you are going but if your cruise takes you to Half Moon Cay you will have all the beach that you could possibly want and more. Beyond that there are other places in Nassua just to hang out amd enjoy the beach along with Atlantis. Just continue to read the threads. Usually I cruise for the ship (12 cruises in all on Carnival) but Half Moon Cay is above and beyond any beach that I have ever been on.
    Happy Sailing.

    Hi there,

For such a short time in Bahamas its a shame! I'm sorry I can't remember the name but there is a beach that is a short walk from Atlantis Casino and it is probably nicer than the one around past the shopping. But remember to keep an eye on your belongings at all times!

The other option is if they still do it, maybe someone else can help out with this one, but the Hilton has a pool and private beach and they would allow people to pay a fee and use this area for the stay. It's only 10 minutes walk from the pier, safe and you don't have to worry so much about keeping a constant eye on your belongings.

If you only have a short period of time to see Nassau, then my recommendation would be to go via taxi to Atlantis. The water taxis although good fun can take a lot longer to get there. There are lots of areas where you can walk around the hotel, shopping, restaurants etc. One part of the aquarium is open to the public in one of the restaurants but to see the whole thing you do need to pay! It is worth it though especially if you have kids.

The pools and water park are normally out of bounds except to those people who are actually guests of the hotel.

Otherwise there are some amazing restaurants to go to in Nassau. My favourite of all time is Cafe Matisse! Beautiful modern Italian with a gorgeous courtyard perfect place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery. Not only is a lovely courtyard but they have some of the best looking waiters I've seen in my life!
