    Question Bahama's weather in October

I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on what the weather is like in the Bahama's in late October (Oct 25th-29th to be exact). I know weather can change quickly, but I am wanting to prepare for typical weather and also find out if it will be warm enough for the beaches and pools.

    Thanks.

    Hey Lauren

The Bahamas weather is very much like the Miami weather at that time of the year. It is normally still very warm. The water temp might be cooling a little by then in the ocean, but you will see lots of folks working on their tans both oceanside and poolside.

Evenings might require a long sleeved blouse/shirt ..... or not.

That is the end of the hurricane season so you might have some rain....or not!

    Go and enjoy!

Thank you so much for your help. It is good to know that I won't seem strange trying to work on a tan in October (as I would look insane doing this in TN haha). It is also helpful to know it might be chilly at night.

    Thanks again!

I have been swimming / snorkeling a number of times in the Bahamas in October. The water is not as warm as it is in laate august -September, but it is not completelly unbearable, either.

As Char mentioned - it IS still hurricane season when you will be there. The peak part of the season will be winding down then, but the season doesn't officially end until Nov 30.

The Atlantic basin shows a very peaked season from August through October, with 78% of the tropical storm days, 87% of the minor hurricane days, and 96% of the major hurricane days occurring then. Maximum activity is in early to mid September. Once in a few years there may be a tropical cyclone occurring "out of season" - primarily in May or December.
