The Dig Tour at Atlantis - a day tour in Nassau

If you are going to be stopping in Nassau and have a full day here, you may want to take a tour of the Atlantis hotel, especially it's aquarium called The Dig. It is something worth seeing once

This will let you explore the Ancient Ruins of the Lost City of Atlantis... The Dig is an elaborate maze of tunnels and underground tunnels with archaeological ruins, ancient artifacts and underwater inhabitants depicting the Lost City of Atlantis.

My nephew was 3 at the time we all went and he LOVED it!

Some cruiselines offer an excursion BUT you can take a short walk on your own over to Atlantis from the port and purchase your own admission.:

Admission Fee & Dig Tours for Non-Atlantis Guests & Visiting Cruise Ship Passengers
One-hour Dig Tours are available to non-Atlantis guests and cruise ship passengers. The admission fee is approximately $35 per person; $25 for ages 4-12; and free for under 4. The fee also includes walking access to other areas of the resort's tropical marine habitat, home to over 200 species of live animals in 11 exhibit lagoons and pools.

Thanks Mandy! Maybe next time we visit Nassau we will get off the ship and go check this out. We usually just stay on the ship now when we call at this port.....it's a been ther done that kind of day for us.

We honeymooned in Nassau almost 50 years ago---it sure has changed since then!

Mandy, we went into the main area and saw the giant (and I must say marvelous) aquarium, but I did not know that there was more to it than just the giant picture windows looking at the fish. Tell me more.......

Oh my...there is about an hour or so worth of awesome aquariums to see and lots of unique information you can learn. You can take a guided tour or go through it on your own taking as long as you want...if you like aquariums, this is one of the BEST!

Great pictures, Mandy! Thanks for posting them! They are so clear...especially of the school of fish swimming by the window!
