We are not fond of Nassau. Too crowded, and dirty. You can't browse without be inundated with people trying to hard sell. Did AStlantis, like was said its a glorified hotel. Horse and carriage was nice once, town holds nothing that interested us. Our friends came along one time with us, for their first time there and said never again.

I agree with you on that one. The Atlantis is a giant Disney Land for adults with way too much money to spend.

I don't feel strong either way about Nassau...been there three times I think and did something different each time but overall not impressed or disappointed.

But I do think Atlantis is a must see at least once

Just came back few weeks ago, and our experience was OK at best. We did not have any excursions setup through Carnival, so we got off and met up with Freddy, he rounded up a few others and it was 20 a person for a tour of the island and over to paradise island (Atlantis) to see the aquarium... He was a funny tour guide! He took us up to the fort thing (forgot the name) did a bit of shopping bought a fake Louie Vuitton wallet for 20, and a few shirts...

So we had a great tour, a fun time with freddy and fellow tourist.. We asked Freddy to drop us off at a local beach on Paradise island this is where the problem started! First off the beach was dirty, not groomed, rocks all over the place. (can find a nicer beach here in NJ) we said whatever the water was still blue, so we wanted to rent a few waverunners and there were a few ppl actually fighting over who got our sale!! Kinda scary, but we went with one of them anyway... I got out on the water and started playin around with the waverunner hitin waves, and I was flagged down by the renter telling me what I was doing was illegal? I explained to him that I'm certified to drive a watercraft and know what I was doing (which I'm by the state of NJ) but he said just be gentle with the waverunner (ITS A WAVERUNNER i.e WATERSPORTS) After our session was over, we went over to Atlantis to do a bit of gambling, then back to the ship
-Matt

Edit: I have a few photos of the beach I think on my moms waterproof phone (didn't bring camera) ill check tomorrow.

Any port that's warm when I've left cold weather is good enough! We have been to Nassau at least a half dozen times. Seen the aquarium a couple times--it's nice but a bit pricey. It is fun to walk around Atlantis but then we generally just get back on the ship and enjoy the amenities.

We did take a wild tour once but didn't see anything we'd go back for. And as divers, our experience in the Bahamas has not bee all that great. If you are hyped on seeing sharks, feeding sharks, you'll love it. But there is more to diving than just sharks and we've always managed to be there when the sea has been rough.
