Cool Does your Travel Agent give you Perks???

What's the best perk that you got from your Travel Agent?

I am very happy with getting % off my cruise rate. Is it a bottle of wine or an OBC that you get?

It's also nice to be given good service from your Travel Agent as well!

    Just wondering...

Just keep in mind that you'll usually pay the same amount no matter with whom you book and any perks an agent provides you comes directly out of their pocket. If you book with the cruise line, you get no perks and they keep the same amount of commission.

New clients aren't as likely to get perks from an agent compared to repeat customers or their perks may be a little less.

Bottom line is you want somebody to look after your best interest and ensure you get the best price available. That takes time and effort on the part of your agent. Sometimes they will find you a special that will lower your rate and save you alot of money, which is worth alot and you'll not get that kind of service from online sites or the cruise lines. So even if they don't give perks, they can sometimes make your cruise less costly.

Good service can often be worth more than perks. And sometimes they may work for a large agency or they are a home-based agent, which can often dictate what they can or cannot do. So it's not necessarily fair to compare agents by the perks they offer.

We get good service and perks from our friend/travel agent. We usually get an on-board credit, plus gifts, plus a cocktail party. I wish she would keep it for herself.

I am happy with the fare we paid through our TA, and also, when we had a couple of requests, the changes to our booking were made promptly!

We so wish ours would too! What she does for us is already more than enough ... but, no matter what we say, there are always extras ....
