Yeah - I don't think they'll have any problem at all once they actually set foot on board... except they won't want it to end.
And yes, even on an older, smaller ship like the Sovereign. I NEVER want my time on that ship to end. That's why we booked a B2B on her for her last two sailings before she leaves us.
Looks like somebody is getting excited? You go guy, go.

I wouldn't wear contacts while snorkeling.
Remember that water has a natural magnifying effect, and that should help.
If you really want to do it right, you can go to a local dive shop and get a snorkel mask that is quasi prescription. A good shop can take your glasses, read them on a machine, and from there, determine what magnification of snorkel lens is best for you.
You can also get actual prescription ground lenses, but those are considerably more.
For a first timer, an organized snorkel excursion with a good guide would probably be more comfortable situation, and Nassau would be the place for that. They'll give you a bit of instruction, and you'll go in a specified area with a group. That way, if you have problems of any kind, there is a guide there to help. Also, you get a nice boatride to the snorkel site, and refreshments on the boat ride back.
At CocoCay. it's more of an 'on your own' type of snorkel... walking in from the beach and swimming out to wherever you want to go. They do give you a little bit of group instruction on the beach first, but they don't go in the water with you or direct you to certain areas... just give you some general 'where to ' guidelines.
