So I`ve never been on a cruise, and need some help..
Never been on a cruise before, and just trying to figure out where to go, what cruise line to go on, when to go, use a travel agent or not,and just how do i plan this cruise???
It`s gonna be me and 3 of my buddies, we are all single strait guys in our mid twenties. just looking to have fun and get away from it all, and meet some ladies .
I live on the east coast so thinking prob the Bahamas? prob 4 nights.....
Should you get a Travel Agent? In a word, YES. Of course, you can do it yourself, but it's a LOT easier with a good TA. And, it won't cost you more to use a TA that to do it yourself. In fact, it could end up saving you a few bucks.
If you want to do a four night cruise from Florida, your choices will be either the Bahamas or the Bahamas. That was an easy one, wasn't it?
Choosing the cruise line and ship is a little more involved... each line has a different personality. For example, Celebrity tends to be a little quieter and more upscale, while Carnival and Royal Caribbean provide more activities. Disney, of course, is Disney... and is the only one of the majors that does NOT have a casino on board, but it DOES have Mickey and Goofy.
Royal Caribbean includes in their Bahamas Itinerary a stop at their private island. Carnival does not.
The time of year that you cruise will pretty much dictate the price... and prices do vary a great deal.
A good TA can help you sort all of this out. And, if you have particular concerns, the folks on this board are great about answering all sorts of specific questions.
Also, I think you and your buddies would enjoy Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines for a three or four day Bahamas cruise. You'll find many others your age and there's an active "night life". In addition you'll love the private island!
LuLu ... Visit SOUTH CAROLINA!
11/21/09 Crown Princess 2/18/10 Island Pricess B2B Ft.Lauderdale to Acapulco and back (total 20 days)
OVER 40 (started young) Princess, Celebrity, RCCL, HAL, NCL, Costa, Disney, Carnival, Sitmar (Princess bought), and (a very long time ago) SS Bahama Star
aboard. And I agree with Lulu and Canarymoon. Please get a good travel agent and then you will not have to worry about a single thing except having a great time. RC might be a great choice for you as well as possibly Carnival. Whatever you choose, please have a great time and come back and tell us all about it.

Hmmm, if meeting people is your thing, you might want to consider Carnival over RCL only because of the sheer number of activities and the drive by the staff to get people involved.

Can't imagine doing a cruise of less than 7 days. Even that is never enough!
Never been in your situation but have met some from the boards who are and don't know that which line you book should be a real high priority. A TA can certainly help you sort that out.
