There are also a couple of forts on New Providence (the island on which you find the town of Nassau). Not real exciting, as forts go... there was never a real battle at either of them . . .

There's a smaller one and a larger one.

At the larger one, there are attendants... on site guides, if you will. They do a superb jog of making a fort that never saw a battle as interesting as possible, given the lack of material they have to work with.

Something I have NOT done in Nassau, but fully intend to one of these days, is a visit to Ardastra Gardens. Other than the botanicals, the BIG attraction there is the "famous marching flamingos." I'd really llke to see that!

There are pictures here on this website. You can see some of the sites that are available. I haven't done the 66 steps. I still want to do the horse drawn carriage. There are 24 different shots of Nassau.

Helen, thanks for the links!! I have been to Nassau once and I didn't even see half of what was in those pictures. Sometimes I wonder where I have been when I see pictures like those.

I did go over t Paradise Island and walk through the Atlantis. That was something. There is a public beach right near the hotel and that is where we were at.

I want to see more out of Nassau then in the past. I plan to this time. It looks like there are things to see. And no problem.
