Well, I just got back from my cruise and i did take the Carnival SE to Atlantis... What a waste of my money booking thru Carnival!!!!!!!!! I think you would be better off taking a taxi or water taxi yourself and then going to Atlantis... It is beautiful there!! Please email me for more info.

we are going to Nassau on Disney Cruise with 16 and 12 yr old on Nov. 10-13.. I want to go to Atlantis but the trip is booked on the cruise. Can you just take a taxi to Atlantis and book a tour of the aquarium or the Digs? What is the Digs? Also booked a glass bottom boat tour. Any suggestions on that? What about Astrada Gardens and Zoo?

Mimi, how long are you going to be in Nassau? We were there with Disney last November and I don't recall it being long enough to do several excursions. I could be wrong though.

I wanted to Ardastra Gardens because I love flamingos and wanted to see them. Unfortunately my DBF and DS don't share the love and vetoed my suggestion.

If you go to www.atlantis.com you'll get all the info you need on The Dig. It looks really cool.

A few years back we taxied over to Atlantis and our driver walked us through and gave us a tour! I was a little apprehensive, but he kept telling us, "no problem" as we walked through. It was AMAZING and only cost us the price of the cab ride

Who was your driver? He sounds a great deal like the one we had, Big T, who was great!

I agree that they don't charge at night. We did a land vacation in July, and went over to the Atlantis for dinner. We had only seen the grounds in the daytime, and walked freely around on a cruise stop.

At night, it was even more elegant. And when we came to the dig (we had previously just walked the long tank around the restaurant), we simply walked through. It was amazing, but I don't think I would have paid $29 to see it.

can you take a taxi to atlantis and take a tour to the aquarium? I am taking a disney cruise and their tour for the atlantis is booked. I was wondering if i could do it on my own.

Yes, you can. It is well worth seeing. We got a taxi to take us on a tour and to Atlantis for $20 pp. Atlantis is amazing!

We will be in Nassau for a day. I want to do the glass bottom boat tour which is in the morning for an hour. I thought in the afternoon I would either go to Atlantis and see the aquarium, if that is possible to do on your own, or go to the gardens. I figured i wouldn't have time for all of them. Which do you think is best? Is the glass bottom boat worth it?

Mimi, I just checked Disney's site and it appears you'll be in Nassau for about 10 hours. My question to you is this: Do you want to run around like crazy trying to fit everything in? From what I can see, the glass bottom boat tour is 1.5 hours. The Ardastra Gardens tour is 2.5. That's 4 hours already, leaving you 6 hours. Don't forget that you want to eat and leave time to disembark and get back on the ship so you don't actually have that full 10 hours. Also, Disney's Atlantis excursion says 3-5 hours.

That's a pretty jam packed day if you ask me. Maybe pick 2 of the 3, but I wouldn't try to do all three -- not to mention the cost!
