I took the Paradise Island/Atlantis tour when I was in Nassau. This was the tour through RCCL. The short boat ride over was pretty. We walked over to Atlantis. Several tours were happening at the same time so there were lots of people around.
The aquarium area was very cool and very pretty. The stories told by the guides were no where close to reality. Lots of conjecture, very few facts. My archeologist sister had a really hard time keeping her mouth shut. The guides were telling stories about Atlantis as if they were basing the stories on historic facts. Kinda hokey too. We walked through several other aquarium areas. The casino was cool with the fabulous glass light fixtures. We spent a lot of time in large groups waiting for our turn to go to the next section.
The tour took a really long time. We went on the earlier tour so we would have time to shop but had barely any time left by the time they brought us back to the shopping area.
I recommend skipping this tour. You can go to Paradise Island on your own and go through most of Atlantis without having to wait for the rest of your group to catch up.

We were dropped off there on a tour. Someway we were lucky and were able to make it to the pool area without a wristband. It was pretty but we did not realize we were even where we were not suppose to be since I had read that they will stop you when you get to where you have to have a wristband to enter.

When doing Alantis there are two ways to get there... One is a cab.. that I would recommend....
the other is water taxi... If you enjoy a long mile walk with no signs and lots of little shops on the way... Use the water taxi....
If you want to save your feet for walking at Alantis, take the cab.. the cab is cheeper than the water taxi..
The first time we went there we used the cab ... And was dropped off right at the door.... Very fast and cheap... like only $6.00 total..
The next time we went to Pairadise Island we took the water taxi.... And you can say a buck if you buy round trip tickets on water taxi... So we did this... only to find out we made a big mistake... Walking over a mile to get there was not fun for us older folks, and it was very hot that day... So we had to stop and rest and buy some cola's to cool down on the way...
By the time we finally got to Alantis, all we wanted to do was sit and rest our feet.... and cool down in A/C
at that point we decided... We was not going to walk the mile back to water taxi..... We took a cab back to ship when we were ready to leave...So buying them round trip water taxi tickets was a waste for us...
But if your a jogger or love to get your daily walk.. Please take water taxi... and bring some bottle water with you.... you'll need it.. LOL.
EITHER WAY YOU GET THERE, IT IS A MUST SEE PLACE ....

I agree!!! Love Atlantis! I go a couple of times a year--frequent gambler rate . If there are 3 or 4 in your group, you can rent a room for the day at the Comfort Suites that is adjacent to Atlantis--it is owned by Atlantis--price breaks down to $50-$60 pp if you shop for good rate and taxi is $6 pp each way. Lunch at the Cave Grill is very reasonably priced--great hamburgers & drinks for 4 people for $22--food every where else there is very pricey except for Murray's Deli and the pizza place in Marina Village. You check in early, get your hotel guest wristband and have use of all of the facilities for the entire day. The new section of the waterpark is worth the cost of the room--it was under construction when I was there last November and was fully open when I was there in August and it really is terrific.
We are going there next Sept on the Sensation... (long time away). I want to go to Atlantis, but am wondering if it will cost too much money? It will be only the 2 of us, I looked at the room rates for the Comfort Suites and it is about 300. If we purchase it through Carnival, the prices are the same (150/pp). No savings there. I really want to go to Atlantis, I have been so looking forward to it, is it really all they say it is? What is included with that price besides the park? Can you roam around the hotel and visit the Aquarium as well?

Hi All...
Just a note of info...
If you go to Atlantis late in the day (after 6:30) you can go ahead and walk through the "Dig" (Aquarium) for FREE!!
You will not have the guided tour, but can go at your own pace and see almost everything. We have done this while on the Carnival Celebration, and went into the Casino and gambled and went all over the hotel. If you want (or maybe I should say afford) to dine, you can also eat in Atllantis.
I agree with the other posters, Atlantis is NOT to be missed. I saw last night on the Travel Channell it is rated as the Number 3 top Caribbean Destination.
