Smile Lucayan National Park

I am sailing on the Fantasy November 27- December 1. This will be my first time to the Bahamas.

I am interested in visiting the Lucayan National Park. From what I have seen at various web sites, the park cost $3 to visit and is about 13 miles from Freeport. Carnival charges $89 for a kayak trip to the park.

I am not sure I want to get in a kayak, and in fact, unfortunately may be too big for a kayak (weight wise). Can you a take a bus to the park or the Rand Nature Center that is nearby?

Cool

I would advise you to take any tours offered by the ship. Lucayan National Park is about 15 miles from Freeport but Freeport is a long distance from Freeport Harbor. I have taken a tour from Port Lucya but It must be booked ahead of time. The bus service can take you near Lucayan National Park but I would not recommend this for cruise ship passengers. You may be able to arrange a tour from one of these vendors. http://www.grand-bahama.com/tour%20operators.htm Any questions please ask. I have visited Grand Bahama many times by private vessel buy never by a Cruise ship.
