Has anyone been to Ardastra Gardens in Nassau where they have the "Famous Marching Flamingos?"
Did you enjoy it?
And more importantly, do they really march?

FROM the RCL website, Bahamas Excursions:
Other Fun Things to Do
Take a break and relax on your own semi-private island. Located just a short boat ride away from Nassau, Blackbeard's Cay is surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise water, sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. Or better yet, check out the Stingray Adventure. This amazing experience could easily be the highlight of your trip
.Relive the swashbuckling past on an exciting pirates and dungeons tour of Fort Charlotte and the Pirates of Nassau Museum. (Eye patches and peg legs not included.)
Go on a glass-bottom-boat tour for a glimpse into the underwater world of the Bahamas. Snorkel with the stingrays at Blue Lagoon Island.
Visit Predator Lagoon where you'll see sharks, barracuda and many other creatures from the deep.
Dance the calypso and sip a refreshing rum punch while sailing aboard the 85-foot Yellowbird
.Marvel at the flora and watch the famous "marching" flamingoes at Ardastra Gardens and Conservation Center
.For an exciting adventure, hop on the powerboat Thriller, Nassau's fastest ride. Enjoy Nassau Harbor, Paradise Island and many other amazing spots.

Has no one done this excursion?
We are sailing on Monay and I am thinking of booking it because it's something DH can probably handle.
We've already done the Pirates and Dungeons one, the semi-submersable, and taken a horse and carriage around Nassau town. Even hoped on a citiy bus and rode thru some local neighborhoods once.
Looking for something new.
Well, for the record, we didn't venture off the ship in Nassau at all on this cruise.
Maybe next time...
I'm sure the flamingos will still be there, marching away.
I'm sorry I missed this post B4 your cruise. Next time take the #10 Jitney for only 1$/pp to the gardens . Just ask anyone where you can pick it up. And yes they do march

Do they, really?
In a line?
To music?

We have been to the Ardasta Gardens - but it was many years ago. Everyone sat on bleachers and a man had them march around to the tune of his commands. At that time there wasn't any music.
We also had a chance to get our pictures taken while holding a parrot.

Cruising is a wonderful way to enjoy retirement!!
Stopped counting after 110 cruises.
Thanks, KK! I didn't realize these birds responded to commands... interesting!
We may try doing this on one of our Sovereign cruises one of these days... Maybe during wintertime when the water is a little coldish for snorkeling.
