Is there anything to do in Freeport??? I will be there on Sept 25 (my birthday) on the Sensation.. I know there is shopping there, but is there more to this island!!! Never been there before....help!!!
To be honest, there are not too many things to do in Freeport. I was there this past December on the Fantasy.
My husband and I decided not to do any excursions offered by the ship. We took a cab on our own to Port Lucaya...There were the usual shops...quite quaint really, but nothing earth shaking. We saw "Count Basie" square which was nicely decorated for Christmas. Then we wandered over to the Beach...I believe it was the Sheraton/Westin complex if I remember correctly. Of course, it was a bit chilly to swim at the time we went. I enjoyed myself because I like seeing anything new. I also took a few pictures there too...a nice remembrance for sure. You might want to look at what the Carnival site has as far as excursions especially if you want a beach day!
Is Carnival the only one of the larger lines that calls at Freeport?
We were there on the Island Princess a few years ago, but only as a fill in port for Cartagena. We booked a snorkel cruise through the ship and had some of the best snorkelling we've ever had in the Caribbean. Saw my first, and hopefully only, shark while snorkelling.
The only time I ever visite there, we didn't leave the ship. I was sailing with just my little granddaughter, and she was having such a find time on the pool deck that there was no pulling her away.
Things to do in Freeport: beach, casino, eat, drink.

I wouldn't know.
In 25 or so cruises, I have shopped maybe two or three times... for about 10 minutes each time!
I do my shopping in the bar.
