Ahh - little town of Geraldton - needed to do a little bit of research on this lovely seaside town - I do know they do a fabulous fish and chips!

With it's average of eight hours of sun every day Geraldton is the seaside getaway of choice for Western Australians and cruise ship companies have slowly come to realise why; pristine beaches, a coral reef for snorkelling and SCUBA diving, great breezes for wind-surfing, surfing, kite-surfing and good catches on offer for enthusiastic anglers.
In fact, Geraldton is one of the major fisheries in Western Australia, supporting the largest lobster fleet on the West Coast. Fortunately, not all of the catch is exported and consequently cafes and restaurants in Geraldton sport an amazing array of seafood from fish and chips to Grilled lobster.

For the explorer, Geraldton is the closest city to the Albrolhos islands, 60km from the coast. The 122 islands are teeming with wildlife from the coral reefs surrounding the islands to the amazing breeding grounds for the 90 species of birds that make the Albrolhos their home.

For those who would like to stay on land head south to the scenic watering hole of Greenough to bathe in a natural pool surrounded gorges or enjoy the unique scenery of the leaning trees. Or enjoy the unique historical highlights of the city including famed St Francis Xavier Cathedral, the Old Gaol.
