If things don't improve with hubby's workplace situation, he may be retiring when he gets to the required age and length of service. That's in December 2010. We may book a cruise for that time, but most likely the Hawaiian one. Maybe by that time, the airline situation will be all sorted and we could start planning to book the Aussie-NZ cruise.

If he CAN retire on time, he just may be one of the lucky ones... so many folks are looking at having to retire later than sooner - and witih less financial felxability.
We are hoping his pension is intact (I think I have to wait awhile before I can touch my IRA and 401K accounts). If so, he'll be getting 60 per cent of his final year's salary. We hope to start up his guitar lessons business again (since we stopped publicizing it due to his mother's illness, we started getting several calls asking about his rates. Go figure) hoping that as the economy improves and people start getting back to work, they will want to get lessons for their kids again.
