Thread: Penalty for canceling?

I talked to my mom about booking the Pacific coast cruise I want to take in May 2013. She won't let me book it without knowing its cancellation penalty because once I canceled a Hawaiian cruise and lost $75.

There are some specials, like Carnival's Early Saver Fare, that have a non-refundable deposit if cancelled. Your agent will help you understand the various specials and their deposit requirements, but on most deals, as long as you cancel your cruise prior to the final payment due date, you will get a 100% refund.

Some agencies charge fees for their services, charge change fees, and/or charge cancellation fees that are not associated with the cruise line's policies. Stay away from these agencies.
