Question Two bills for one cabin

Is it possible to reserve a cabin without paying for all 3 people? It would be much easier to pay for it on two credit cards than make Mom pay for all three people and write a $1,349 check to her. If I wait for her to sell the house my preferred cabin may be gone by the time she is willing to book it, so I would rather pay now just to reserve the cabin and cancel later if my mom says no to the west coast on the Sapphire Princess. But I can only pay for myself so I have to split the cost with my mom. Is this payment arrangement, or a similar one, allowed? We are definitely staying in one cabin.

You would only need to pay a deposit, not the full payment when you book your cabin. Final payment is usually 60 to 75 days prior to the sail date.

I'm not sure what the deposit amount would be for Princess, but I'm sure Pete will be along to give you the details.

Princess changed their deposit policy last year - now it's a percentage as opposed to a set amount like everyone else. So it depends on the cost. But to reserve a cabin, the full deposit must be made. You can't make just a partial deposit payment and hold the cabin.

However, you can use as many cards as you want to pay the deposit and/or the final payment. I've had 4 people staying in one cabin - all used different cards for everything. And then when they get to the pier, they had their sail-n-sign cards hooked up to their individual credit cards. Using different cards is never a problem.

Let us know if you have any further questions on this.

Are you saying my family must pay the entire $3,687 in full when I choose a cabin number, but a deposit would be good enough if I did not care which cabin we get?

No, that's not what I said.

Let's say that your deposit is $600. This deposit must be paid in full at time of booking. If you want, you can use three different cards and charge $200 to each - therefore payment of the deposit has been paid in full.

You cannot make a partial deposit of less than the $600 to hold the cabin - you have to pay the full $600.

When the final payment is due, then you can charge the remainder to as many cards as you'd like, in whatever amounts you'd like just so long as the full final payment is made by the final payment due date.

Between the deposit and the final payment due date, you can make as many payments as you'd like in whatever amounts you'd like, if you would like to make some payments. If you don't want to make any payments, then you don't have to - some people like to make a payment each month and that way not have to come up with alot of money when the final payment is due.

Hope this explains it, but let us know if you have more questions.

Pete clarified his explanation for you. You can choose your cabin number at the time you pay only the full deposit.
