Question Is this good or bad or . . . ?

I will be on the Carnival Splendor for a 7-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera leaving on October 30, 2011.

This will be the last cruise for the CD Todd Wittmer and his replacement (Danny Ghilarducci ) will be joining our cruise.

When you have one CD on his last cruise before his vacation and one CD trying to learn the ropes of this ship - how does that impact the passengers?

Will the CD’s spend more or less time with us or will they be busy doing a lot of "paperwork"?

    Thanks for your input.

Iv found that most CDs spend so little time with you that it does not matter. I have had a few that things normally a CD does, their assistant did, (like usually the CD does the love and marriage show, our CD passed it to his asst) that I thought the CD was hiding out too much. I know CDs do a lot of behind the scenes things and some CDs dont enjoy the limelight perhaps??

If you dont have Steve Cassell or a big name like John Heald .. I say it will make no difference to you.

It really does depend on the individual CD - some are alot more pro-active than others. We've been on some cruises where we are constantly seeing the CD, while on others, we've only seen them a few times. It also depends on what activities you get involved in - sometimes the CD will always go to certain activities, while other times, they make a cursory appearance and then leave. The old timers tend to know what's more important and are better at scheduling their time for maximum effectiveness.

When training another CD to take their place, they usually tend to be out and about more, at least in my experience.

Our cruise director on the Century was fantastic. She announced at the first show that if we saw her in the halls to call out to her. We did, told her it was our 25th anniversary, and she remembered it the many times we saw her after that.

    Lisa was phenomenal.
