    Cruising to London Olympics

Does anyone know a good site for choices of cruises that go to or from Southhampton, Portsmouth or London at the time of the London 2012 Olympics?

    Hi and welcome to www.cruiselinefans.com

Sorry, I don't know of any sites that might help.

Some lines that sail from the UK are P&O Cunard, Celebrity, RCCL, MSC, Saga, Thompson and Costa plus others.

I would look at the ports of Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover, Tilbury and Harwich.

To the best of my knowledge, there's not one site or aggregating service out there specifically for 2012 London Olympics. I did some fairly thorough searching.

However - I do know that the Silversea Cruises' Silver Cloud and Silver Whisper are to be moored on the Thames River at Tower Bridge.

You may want to consider contacting them directly or asking your preferred local travel agent to check in to these two ships' availability during the Games. Some of the more cruise ships in the surrounding ports will be used to house athletes and staff.

I'm not exactly clear as to whether or not the Silversea Cruises' ships are being used as such - but it's worth a shot. I will do some more research - please check back with us.

Let us know if you find something that suits your needs. And thanks for joining CruiseLineFans!

If you're thinking about starting or finishing a cruise in London at that time, you may want to consider that most of the available hotel rooms may be booked up early. And as stated above, some cruiseships may be chartered for use as housing for Olympic officials (I think this was the case in Vancouver).
